Daniel J. Misiewicz founder of Daniel J. Misiewicz Attorney at Law has over ten years experience as a trial lawyer. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in 2004. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio defending those charged with federal crimes and litigating Constitutional and federal claims.
Early Law Career

As an attorney, Mr. Misiewicz has continued his legal training obtaining a diploma from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in June of 2005. Completing their intensive professional training program in the art and skills of Trial Advocacy. He also completed the National Defender Training Project at the University of Dayton School of Law in 2010. He has been a member of the Cuyahoga County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association since 2005. Mr. Misiewicz served as a representative for other attorneys as Vice-President of AFSCME Local 3631 negotiating salary increases and benefits. Also, he has appeared as a guest speaker at the Case Western Reserve University discussing topics of Crime Control and Due Process of Law.

Mr. Misiewicz decided he wanted to be a lawyer at a young age while working Summers with his Mother at a Cleveland law firm. This is where he was first exposed to the law and lawyers; his passion was sparked. He pursued his dream of defending the Constitution of the United States of America and those accused of crimes.

Mr. Misiewicz attended Miami University studying pre-law and the sociology of law. Thereafter, he was a clerk at the law firm of Calfee , Halter, & Griswold LLP. He attended law school at Cleveland Marshall College of Law where he was on the Dean’s List. During his time at law school, he was employed by the school as a tutor assisting students with their legal training. He also was a member of the International Law Moot Court Team and served as an extern in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio for the Honorable Donald C. Nugent.

Mr. Misiewicz prosecuted in Willoughby Hills Municipal Court, as a legal intern, during his second and third years of law school. It was then that he solidified his desire to defend those accused of crimes. He went on after law school to work as an attorney for Cuyahoga County defending individuals charged with crimes. This is where he honed his trial skills and continued to strengthen his knowledge of the law and the criminal justice system. During that time, he handled thousands of criminal cases, including more than six hundred felony cases. Mr. Misiewicz successfully defended individuals charged with murder, rape, child rape, white collar crimes, drug trafficking, aggravated robbery, gun charges, domestic violence, DUI/OVI, and many other criminal charges.

Mr. Misiewicz also specializes in misdemeanor traffic offenses. Whether dealing with complex driver’s license suspension issues from child support, 12 point suspensions, motor vehicle accidents, DUI/OVI suspensions, drug suspensions, or reinstatement fees, Mr. Misiewicz will work to keep you out of jail and reinstate your driving privileges. He also handles simple traffic violations such as speeding or other minor infractions where points can cause a problem for a CDL, insurance, or employment.

Mr. Misiewicz handles a number of post conviction matters including expungments, judicial releases, appeals, and writs of habeas corpus.
